Brooklyn Collective was established in response to the need for a space where craftsmen can showcase their work free from the pressures of mass-market retail. Through a cooperative effort, the collective seeks to push the boundaries of art and design, offering the public a unique view into what designers are capable of when they are given creative freedom.
All too familiar with censoring their own work to make their wares sellable to traditional shops, co-founders Tessa Williams (clothing design) & Rachel Goldberg (jewelry design) opened the Brooklyn Collective to offer artists & designers an affordable place to display and sell their creations. Located in the up and coming neighborhood along the Columbia Street waterfront, Brooklyn Collective houses work ranging from the elegant to the obscure. More than just a shop, all the members share the rent and keep 100% of their profits. |
